Congrats to all the Texas guys & forum members with respectable finishes at the Open. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of 'em, ha. In two days I caught 16 fish from the back, but only 1 met the min. 15" mark...bunch of 14.5s & 14.75s  As always, though, it was a great time and experience & I look forward to the Sabine. JD/76708, you are the winner for being closest to my whopping 1 lb. 8 oz. with a guess of 6.18

It was tough Mark! I caught 8, only 1 measured. The sabine will treat us better!

I live a hour away from table rock. I don't fish it much as there's not really big fish in it. I've seen some 5s but they aren't in popularity in that lake. No clue why.

I live a hour away from table rock. I don't fish it much as there's not really big fish in it. I've seen some 5s but they aren't in popularity in that lake. No clue why. it is because the rock has never recovered from the fish kill. the mdc does not believe in stocking as texas does, and it has taken since 1998 just to get to the level we are at now. bo

At least you weighed 1!! I had 5 bites total and closest I got to touching a bass was a small bass jumping off at the boat on a Trap... That clear water was trippy!! I tried everything that I brought with me and copied the boaters too some. My first day partner caught 15 bass but only 1 keeper and 2nd day guy caught 12 bass but only 2 keepers. Went way into Arkansas 2nd day and barely went away from the ramp 1st day.
can't wait to fish the Sabine!! I did good last year in the Opens so this ZERO was quite humiliating!

It sure turned a 180 from practice when I was averaging 50-70 bites a day I just made the wrong decision on Day 1, on Day 2 I had the chance to have the biggest bag of the tournament just couldn't execute blowing up a reel on 1 6lber and losing the other 6 at the boat. Just part of the game and get them on the next one. Cody Bird was in the same area of the river that I was in and when I seen him in there I backed out and let him have sept I blew it on Day 1, and he was in the hunt and went to my secondary water.
