I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I live in the North Tarrant area and frequent the ponds around Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, and Keller. As of this past week, I am finding it more difficult to land that Bass. I've been using the same bait (senkos, brush hogs, spinners, crankbaits, etc) and before this past week, I was catching 3 - 4 lbers daily. On some ponds, I see the bass swimming around and jumping out of the water. My question is if this past week was bad for fishing in general or is it that the bass are getting smarter and not taking the bait after being caught? Also, there are more people fishing these ponds so maybe the constant pressure of anglers is causing these bass to be skiddish?

It could be a mix of both happening. Bass catch on relatively quickly so if you use the same colors of the same lures all the time, eventually they'll be less effective. Also fishing pressure can cause a lull in bites. On the other hand, I'm hearing from a lot of my fishing buddies that this past week was tough fishing everywhere (even the big lakes). So I'd change up a few things and throw some stuff I normally wouldn't along with my regular lures. It's almost time for those bass to be bedding up.
