The new unit that came with my boat one day would not power on so I called Lowrance and they exchanged it for another one. The new one will not keep a good reading on the sonar down and if the boat is moving at all I loose the bottom. This is on a 2016 Skeeter FX 21 and the older unit showed the bottom up to about 60mph. Any idea what will fix this?

check the transducer cable to make sure its plugged in all of the way and that there is no dirt inside the connection.
check transducer for proper alignment and adjust. It does not take much to bump them on something and screw the alignment up.

Simple test to see if it's a transducer issue. Put some water into the bilge, not a lot needed; but you need enough to cover the transducer puck. If it now works then the transducer isn't installed properly. If it makes no difference then you have another issue.
