My guess is it will be a while. Even on warm years north Texas usually doesn't get going good until April.

If the weather will stabilize they'll start getting shallow here soon. Caught 15 on Friday on Tawakoni in less than 2.5'; water temps were around 60-64 in the cove I was in. Saturday temps were 55-58 and didn't catch anything shallow...moved out to some cover in 15' and caught a few, but it was slow. April is the the "good" month, but there is still good fishing to be had for shallow crappie in March...if the weather cooperates.

There are crappie to be caught shallow now if you know where to look and the weather would settle down. Try to look on the far north end and in the creeks on the warm days before a front like today. You may be surprised what you find.

They are already up shallow on Ole Mother Hubbard. Find rocks with a quick drop, and you should find fish about 16 to 18 down. Not alot of fish just yet, but enough to get you to feel that thump!

Hubbard can be fickle to say the least, but plenty of good advice here from what I can see.

been fishing in marinas lately. Worked the tires for about a hour and not a noble. Haven't tried going to the north part of Hubbard toward Lavon. still trying to find them. Using minnows and jigs and can't seem to find them or what they like right now.
