Going from a Yamaha to a new Merc, wondering if Bass Pro in Grapevine provides good engine servicing and warranty work? I live 5 minutes from there and do not know much about reputable Merc Mechanics in the area.

Rockwall Marine. They have worked on my Mercs. since the team worked at "The Fishing Store" (early 1990's).

They smoked a 2006 Merc on me and would not take responsibility for it. They charged me for a new fuel filter and plugs on an annual maint check and when i got the boat home, i found they were the old ones... Plus i got the boat back after almost 3 months...

Might as well just get it serviced at wal-mart, no way in H E double hockey sticks I would get my engine serviced at a bass pro or cablelas.

We had our lower unit seals replaced at cabelas in allen and they did a great job, they didnt take long either. We have it there right now to get the trailer fixed up and get a nee graph installed.

He's gone now. So no I wouldn't recommend them. Bruce is the best mechanic they ever had.

Surprised with that bad experience with Merc.

I consider Bruce Tucker a friend... he was not the best they had, the best Bass Pro ever had was David Green (Opti). David is a Mercury Master tech and has been for a long time. They are both good friends of mine. But David Green is by far the best, he's the one they wound go to for help when they couldn't figure it out.

Opti is out at Cabelas in ft worth now.
