Some of my best childhood memories were made during our annual spring fishing trip at uncle Herbs lake house on lake Palestine. My grandfather (Herbs brother), dad, Michael, and I would load up and head to lake Palestine for an extended weekend of fishing for crappie in the coves, white bass up the Neches, and aunt Joanns home cooking.

Me made the trip happen again this past weekend. We lost my grandfather about seven years ago but added my son to the crew this year. There were four generations of Richardson fishermen in the boat ranging from age 4 to 90. Lake Palestine showed out with an absolutely EPIC day of fishing on Friday. Great fellowship!

Haha I've been asked that several times. That's where all that practice my brother and I get guiding comes in handy. Two Rapala HD electric knives and two people cutting ribs = 265 fish cleaned and bagged in just over 37 min!

Crappie are shallow in protected coves right against the grass. Dark jigs North in the stained water and lighter jigs South in the clear from Constant Pursuit Outfitters. Our white bass were caught in the main lake, but I think most of the mature fish are up the creeks. We did catch some post spawn females in main lake already though.

Texas Freshwater Slam! Those LMB were fun on an ultralight.

Great report Chris! Not bad for a morning trip. 37 minutes cleaning 265 fish, most impressive. I look forward to fishing with Micheal one of these days.

Looks like everything was on fire that day. Awesome! Not to sound cliche but, that really is what it's all about right there! Did you fish for the cats and hybrids separately or were they mixed in with the sandies and what not?

The hybrids were mixed in with the whites and we stopped by some timber for the cats. My uncle wanted a mess.
