Have a F150, 2016 with the factory 7 pin connection. One of the pins is for 12v power, but can't find the amp rating and dealer no help. The boat trailer has a 40 amp PowerWinch.

Would be great if this connection would hand the winch current.

You would need a ~8 ga wire for that. Doubt the wiring harness has anything close to that.

Yeah, I could not find any wires that heavy to the plug.

I do have the proper wire from the old truck. Can this wire be connected to the factory pin?

In this case for 40a I think your best option would be to just run a wire directly off the battery.

Thanks for the advise,

Do you think the separate wire can be attached to the factory 7 pin bumper connection? This would save adding another receptacle to the bumper
