My deepest was 18' out there. Its a lot harder than most people would think to pitch on a bed that far down.

Pay close attention to any lay down logs or stumps. Look there first than scan outward. It is prime real estate for their little fishy nurseries.

Great notes above. Soak all that in, then use google earth and navionics to identify likely areas. I'll very often try to find areas that are hard to get to or away from where the masses tend to be. For instance the area within about a 3 mile radius of Fin and Feather on T-bend will get picked over like a thanksgiving turkey. Once I've located what I think to be good areas, if water clarity allows, I'll put my trolling motor on 5 and rock until I find what I'm looking for. Good news is once you locate good areas they'll produce year after year.

I look for them with Side Imaging and 360 and "sight fish" regardless if I can see them visually or not. Water clarity is a non-issue.

At heavy pressured waters, they spawn a lot deeper than some realize. I catch lots of bed fish in 5'+ depths. Other species spawn deep also regardless of water clarity.
These are shellcrackers in water with maybe 1" visibility. The actual depth is over 7' since I did not have depth offset adjusted for the transducer depth.

If its 6-7 ft where your boat is sitting, it not 6 foot where those beds are.
