Looking for input from folks that have their engine monitoring (water temp. / pressure / tach) running through a HB Helix. Looking at possibly adding a SmartCraft / MercMonitor set-up or adding what's necessary to view the info on my Helix 10, but don't really know what would be best from a cost & performance stand-point. The motor is a 2011 200 Pro XS. Didn't receive any feedback in the Motors Forum, so trying here. Thanks!

I tired to get this setup when I had my Helix's installed in January but the installer said the cables from the Yamamha would not connect to the Humminbird NMEA 2k box and I would need to find an obsolete connector that I have yet to find. At this point I have given up so if you are able to get it done and want an open box NMEA 2K black box then shoot me a PM and I can get it to you at half price.

Go with the SmartCraft gauges. Humminbird did not support all the NMEA 2000 features on the core series. so I would not risk spending the money to see if they fixed it on the Helix.

Shallow Waters,

Lowrance makes NMEA 2000 cables that interface with the Yamaha connector. That is what I used on my 2013 F115 to connect it into a Humminbird system. You can find the cable at Amazon, do a search for "lowrance nmea yamaha".

I have lowrance cables already coming out of the enigne but according to the installer they are the old style (2006 Yamaha 225 HPDI) and I need an adapter that his suppliers dont carry any longer. He suggested Ebay but I have not found anything I was confident enough to spend more money on. If you have a picture of what I would need it would be great, he didnt have one so I am a little unsure what I am looking for.

What does the connector look like of the cable that is hooked up to your engine? Here is a picture of a NMEA 2000 "T". Does it look like it can connect to it? It is a standardized 5 pin design.
