Has anyone here attempted to chum for bluegillz/other sunfish? If so did it work? What would you suggest?

Never have chummed for sunfish. Catfish,Shark, and Carp are the only fish I have chummed for. I know a couple of anglers who use bread to bring sunfish in and it works fairly well. As for me I just kind of find them.

The only fish I chum for is Channel Cat's. I would figure that chumming for sunfish would not be a bad idea.

Works for me rather well but I've only done it in our pond.
Chum the evening before if I can and come back the next morning and they always seem to be there in quantity.

I've done it, and do it now. It works. It gets the bluegill in a frenzy.

We have always used the small cans of whole kernel corn for bluegills. Just toss a little in and fish with the rest. The best thing is that it's clean, cheap and works great. Perfect for kids.

Friend of mine who lives on Mcqueeney chums for Bluegill on his dock. We have no problems getting a bunch for dinner! Chumming works well!

I've don't it creeks to lure bait-size 'gills into a minnow trap. Crumbled crackers worked ok, but dissolved pretty quick. I always wondered if some kind of aquarium food might work best.
