Looking for someone that can help me finish the installation of a "New Old Stock" Lowrance HDS 10 Gen 2 unit and the LSS2 unit. I've installed lots of electronic units over the years for myself, family and friends. Honestly this one appeared to be very straight forward, and in fact it turned out no more difficult than other than I've done in the past. That said, for whatever reason I have yet to get the LSS2 unit to power up. I've checked the cable from the power buss to the unit and there is power going through the cable from the buss to the unit. For troubleshooting, I borrowed a "New In The Box" LSS2 unit a friend of mine has as a backup unit, and again, "No Joy".
Anybody local that I can ask / pay to help me solve this problem. Honestly, this shouldn't be happening, but it is and I'm thinking I need a set of fresh eyes to take a look.
Any help, suggestion or names would be very much appreciated. Frankly, I'm stumped......and I know the solution is going to be very simple.....I'm just not seeing it......

So you have the graph yellow to lss module yellow.
Red lss module wire hooked to the pos battery. Red lss module wire hooked to neg battery.
Did you turn ON the "structure scan" option in the advanced menu?

So you have the graph yellow to lss module yellow = yes
Red lss module wire hooked to the pos battery = yes Red lss module wire hooked to neg battery = no, I've got the black lss module wire hooked to the negative (-) side of the buss. Do I have this correct, there is only one red wire (+) on the lss module and it's on the positive buss.
Did you turn ON the "structure scan" option in the advanced menu? = Nope, I was completely clueless on this one

Could it be a power cord issue? Maybe the little pins on the LSS box do not make good contact with the power cord. So even if the cord tests ok with a multimeter, it won't power up the LSS because the electricity is not reaching the unit. I had a similar problem on my boat before.

To all that offered suggestions, my thanks to you all. As of about dark thirty this afternoon I now have a LSS2 module that lights up like a Christmas Tree......
Hopefully, crappies be ware....
I'm looking forward to learning how to use the LSS while fishing for my most beloved fish.....Da Crappie Fish....

You nailed the problem, the lights of the LSS2 box are so dim that unless you are directly in front the unit, you can't see the lights. I had it wired correctly from the beginning, just couldn't see the lights on the unit. I mounted the unit underneath the drivers side console and when you view it from a 15 - 20 degree angle, the lights are not visible.
Never did find anything in the advanced menu that would allow you to enable or disable the LSS2. That said, plowing through the menu was educational for me, it helped me gain some useful information about the units features and settings.
