Backup in matagorda, there was a bait shop that sold oysters by the potato sack, I was wondering if i would be able to find somewhere that sells oyster like that in bulk in rockport, POrt A or port oconnor, Preferably rockport. I was also wondering where i could possibly make a bonfire or campfire in Rockport?

If you mean by the sack yes i have never know oysters to be sold by the bushel. If you have never spent a lot of time shucking oysters you may want to buy them already shucked. I believe that a gallon of oysters equals a sack.

You can build as big a fire as you want on PINS, as long as you don't burn pallets. I think it is a no go at Mustang Island State Park though.

It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.

In the Rockport area I used to say Casterlines, but I'm not sure they're still open. Alby's would be my next stop. You could also purchase straight from the boat too, bring cash. I would call ahead of course

As far as bonfires, my family has done them on Live Oak Point years ago when we used to stay at Kontiki, but I'm not sure of the legality today. I would suspect anywhere along SH 361 between AP & PA would be OK as well as the beaches in PA/CC. You could try a bonfire along the picnic areas of the south end of the Copano Causeway, too.

I live on live oak point, no bonfires seen.
FYI- this weekend is Oysterfest, you will find what you're looking for!

Fulton Harbor is home to quite a few of them. They leave at first light and return when they've met their quota, so typically late morning, though it depends on far they have to travel to find harvestable reefs which have not been closed.

Not surprised since the construction has the point shutoff to access unless you're staying at Kontiki. Probably 20 years ago when we did it. We've got a place now on Live Oak Pt (west side of the causeway) where we've been for 17 years or so.
