Do you even biology bro?

The State sets bag limits in accordance with research. You're statements are opinion and that's only worth about 2cents and that won't even buy a cup of coffee.

I guess that it's not hard to find someone who is both sanctimonious and self righteous. We obey the laws set forth by the Great state of Texas, and, if that's not good enough for you, maybe you should get off the forum, seeing how it seems to upset you to the point that you would insult and berate people you don't even know.

I'm going to put 300 sand bass in my freezer this spring in good character.

I don't have a boat, it lasts me about 6 months.

It came to large mouth bass fishing, it came to cat fishing it is rampant in the saltwater fishing world and here it comes to the white bass fishing world.

Is there anything a man can go do anymore that some one won't criticize and belittle him for doing it?.

Is there anything a man can go out and do that some one does not feel compelled to tell him since he did not do it like they do (even if legal) they are somehow immoral unethical etc........?

I am tired of the "mine is bigger", "you should not keep that many", "you should not keep the big ones", " you should not use bait" crowd.

Why oh Why can a law abiding man not post up his legally caught/killed fish and game without some yahoo insulting him for it?

These are sandbass, they aren't black bass or flatheads, or even striper. I can go to my favorite hole on a creek and pull 25 fish out and it won't even put a slight dent in the population, these fish breed like rabbits, as do crappie. If I want to keep 3 or 5 or even 25 I have every right to do so, maybe you're just jealous of other peoples catches? Don't know. However, I can guarantee you sure didn't do any research on the spawning habits of sandbass or the survey reports on lakes around here. If anything, people probably need to take a bunch because their could end up being too many of them. Sandbass are a fast growing fish, and they spawn prolifically, so, I suggest you chill out buddy because you're making some personal attacks that aren't fair.

Love to see some factual evidence to back up the bs you're spewing. Like from a biologist perhaps, showing that keeping a limit is somehow harming the population.

Or is it, you think it's somehow more righteous to keep below the state set limit? I think it's that one.

So in that case, the limit could be 10/day and you would grace us with your approval at that point? Or would 5 a person in that sense be the righteous thing to do?

Do you shoot your limit of Dove a day? Or are we running short?

Those limits are there for a reason.

Many of them had a partner, so the boat total was 50 fish that could have spawned and given us a more plentiful resource in the future. I have to wonder if guys who do that are just stupid or greedy. It reminds me of the photos I have seen of guys back in the 40's who would kill hundreds of ducks in a day and hang them in rows around their barn for a photo. Our duck population is still recovering from the lack of good sense from those idiots decades ago.

Keeping 25 spawning fish does not make you a man or make you look cool. Catching and keeping a limit of spawning fish does not mean you are a good fisherman or that you have some unique talent. Anybody can catch 25 spawning fish, so your boasting makes you look immature and inexperienced. I now realize that we have regulations because of a few bad apples who lack common sense and the good character of a true sportsman.

I don't always fish for white bass but when I do I stop before my limit because I suck at fishing..

wait I mean because I'm a sportsman.

I understand what the original poster is saying - there are some on here that are good at catching white bass - they bring their friends and fill a 140 qt cooler - twice a weekend - every weekend. It is a little over kill if you ask me.
And just FYI we have boated over 3200 fish this year - bet we haven't kept over 20 hybrids and 150 whites total (All of these fish were main lake fish in different phases of spawning)
Just because you can legally keep them doesn't mean you always should - yes it is your legal right to keep 25 per day, but if your that good at catching white bass why not just keep what you need?

I don't know how we made it back in the 60's & 70's when there was no size or limit that I could remember.
I keep what is legal. When I feel like cleaning that many. I wish he would rail on the guys catching the tiny sandies and throwing all and everything in a bucket at the boat docks. They don't speak English when you try to help them so they don't get a ticket. Let's work on the illegal activities that go on that we see every time we go out, not the law abiding sportsman.

If you see someone taking fish over the limit or taking them in an illegal manner, you have a responsibility to report it to a game warden. If you see someone taking a legal limit by leagal means and you can't deal with that, then perhaps you should take up a different hobby so that you won'r be offended by legal activity.

When I read this it reminded me of the time my wife felt sad for the shad I had just laying on the dock while I was tight lining for catfish. I told her they were like gnats. Killing a few ain't gonna make a whit of difference. And if I end up not using them, the blue Herons always clean things up.

She got it.
