25+ mph will kick your arse on Lewisville! You can tuck back out if the wind but getting to my holes is a true beating! I will fish a hurricane if I haven't got to fish in a few weeks though!! Only thing stopping me are big lightning storms or the wrath of my wife!

I went to grapevine a couple nights ago it was 20 with gusts I thought it would calm down but that did not happen. Not going to lie I was a little scared on the open lake.

Depends on the body of water, vessel and type of fishing.
For example, 25+ on Twok...gonna be bumpy but very fishable.

Get a bigger boat! Mine will handle 6+ waves. Do I want to try to fish in any size boat with waves like that? No way! If I can find protected water that has fish my boat will handle getting across the rough stuff to and from it though.

Depends on the body of water, vessel and type of fishing.
For example, 25+ on Twok...gonna be bumpy but very fishable. The size of the boat makes the difference. Plus the drivers boating skills. A good bilge pump for waves that break over. All comes down to common sense. Lot of fishermen and duck hunters have died over the years going out when the boats can't handle the waves. A good strong bilge pump might have saved some of them. Like Salsa said body of water, vessel and type of fishing.

I got caught on Raybob in 25mph south wind and never ever want to do that again. It weren't fun having waves come over the bow all the way from 922 bridge to Jordan ramp.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Back in my catamaran sailing days, when it was blowing dogs off of chains, it was just right.

Do you remember about 7-8 years ago when a wind storm blew through and made north TX look like the dust bowl? Well me and a friend were fishing a company tournament that day on Lake Fork. We were fishing in the back of Bell branch that day and I had a problem with my boat and it wasn't running right. We starting limping back towards the main lake and it looked like the Pacific Ocean!! We had to bank the boat and walk out that day. It was by divine providence that we were in the back of that creek when the boat broke down. It would have been really bad if we had not. Ever since then, I don't get out there if it is 20+ and gusting. Always keep in mind that in winds like that a mechanical failure could put you in serious danger.
