I don't know where I saw it but do any of y'all use loops to attach tippet rather than a line to line knot. I tried it a couple of times but didn't catch anything to really give it a test.

Never tried them but getting some for larger fish for sure. The knots hold much stronger than even a triple surgeons loop. Would still be scared to use them on wary trout. Would like to know if any one has used them on say 6 X for trout.

I use perfection loops to attach my tippet to the leader. I tie up several (fluoro and mono) about 2 - 2 1/2 feet and wrap then on a piece of cardboard. I have some old floppy drive jackets that I keep them in. 2-4-6-8-10-12-15 lbs. I throw a lot of windknots so I keep plenty handy. So far trees have been the only thing that has caused the tippet to break at the loop.
