My dad and I hit the water around 4pm after a long 8 hour drive down to Falcon. We fished for about 30 minutes before my dad hooks into one. The words "that's a big fish" were spoken and truer words there are not. I looked up and she had ran toward the deep water and was pulling the drag! The fight was on and when she came up to jump there was no doubt Dad had him a tank. He got her head turned and pulled her in. Got her in the boat and put her in the livewell while we got the tape, scale and camera ready. She weighed in at 10lbs 5oz and measured 24.5in long and 18.5in girth. Caught on a point, off some wood, on a trig, and in 10ft of water.

Words cannot describe how proud I am of my dad. He has bass fished 40 years for this and I am glad I witnessed it. Without further adeiu, here she is!

Yep. Only took me 40 years to actually land on over 10 pounds. Got close a few times. It was a perfect catch. She ran for open water instead of back into the wood like they usually do.
My man landed that fish by hand. No net. We hadn't even got it out of the box yet. If it had been anybody else on the planet grabbing for that fish I probably would have shot him. I think he was as excited as I was.
