I just googled that issue and it seems to be a pretty common problem with Samsung.

Brian, I had to put my Samsung Series 6 TV in the shop because it was doing that, even with no other inputs plugged in and a different remote. It's a problem with the motherboard and turning back on is the first problem. After a while, it may start turning itself off while you're watching it, and then turning back on again. I lived with it for 3 or 4 months, and just unplugged it when I wasn't watching, until I got the time to take it to a repair shop.
The repair was under $200 and it hasn't had that problem since. Talking to some family this morning I think I've got a solution. Think this TV is probably going to end up in the shop or back porch. I'm done with Samsung for a while after this one. Mine's gotten a new motherboard and power supply already, and my buddy's similar model had the screen just completely die and it would have been $600 to fix. They have a great picture, but if they're going to make it with such shoddy components, why bother paying the premium over something like a Vizio? Like anything else, you can get a good one or bad one. Our Samsung has been flawless for the past 6 years. Whereas, we bought a Vizio and it was quirky from the start. The day we brought it home and plugged it in it began. It would turn off by itself, sometimes several times before staying on. Or, stay on for a while then start turning off. We contacted Vizio and tried all their solutions over the phone, nothing. They sent out a tech, nothing. Sent out another tech and he determined it was a mother board. They sent us a brand new tv, newer model and more features than the one we bought so that was nice. All told it took about 6 months to get everything corrected. Haven't had any problems since (approx 4 yrs now).
