I have 2 10' blades and just got the Ultrex last weekend. I would give up my poles in a heartbeat before giving up the Ultrex. With that being said, keep your 1 pole and use the money on the Ultrex. I promise I'll be the best investment you've made.

I bought the Skeeter package which came with one 8' PP. But I went ahead and added the second and glad I did. Great for bed fishing, but more than that, launching and loading is ten times easier, and I fish alone most of the time.
Get two!

have a single talon --works fine
you just have to pay attention to boat position as it will pinwheel in the wind
you should be paying attention to boat position anyway

Thanks for the info !

After listening to all the info so far I think i am going for duel 12 ft talons at least and probably the ultras as well.

Thanks again for making decision easier!

2 is definitely better than 1 and 1 is better than none, and Talon is better than PP! I bought a used boat with 1 power pole pro series . I hate the power pole! Buying 2 new 12' Talons next week. Power Poles leak hydraulic fluid in your battery compartment or wherever you mount the bulky pump. Pumps and wires waste space, and just recently both my remotes quit working. They are magnetic and suppose to be easy to sync. BS! After countless attempts, reading online, new batteries I finally decided to find a more powerful magnet. It worked, but that's bs theirs does not. Done with PP!

One good thing about powerpole is their customer service, they are always willing to help. I have 2 poles and 1 went down for awhile, trust me you want 2. Didnt realize how much a difference the second makes until i only had 1 working.

I can lower 1 at a time also. Dual does not mean u have to lower both, its just the default behavior.

Another vote for "2 is better than 1" on Talons or PPoles

Have (2) 10' Talons on my Z9 and they do fairly well except on slate or rocky bottom. Decided on them over the Power Pole just because of the ease on install.

The boat I bought two years ago had one 8' Power Pole. I never had one before. It is nice but still had to stay put when the wind is howling. I was dragged by the wind with the 8' Power Pole down in 4 feet of water. Wind was maybe 25 out of the south. Maybe with two I could have stayed put. That being said, I'm not going to drop another $2,000 for a second Power Pole. Most times one works BUT you will spin and you stern will face the wind. You can compensate (some) by boat positioning. Sometimes you cannot do this.

Most of the time one pole works but there are times it does not.

I have 2-10'Talons on my 18' Skeeter aluminum (89 model made by G3) powered by a 100 hp Yahama with jet drive. The 12 poles would not pass under some of the bridges on the sloughs where I fish in central calif so I got the 10'Talons. Previously I had 2 of the dig in anchor poles. They worked good but they were a lot of work. You need 2 poles to keep the boat from turning with the wind.

I think it is kind of like beer or potato chips, can never have enough. Unlike women, and I think the Fabulous T Birds sd, one is too many and a hundred aint enough.

My son got one on his Skeeter. First tournament he fished he pulled up to the bank, put his power pole down and got out to go check in. Came back to get his fish to weigh in only to find his boat had been turned around by the wind and was now 20ft off the bank. This was Feb. He had no choice but to go swimming. He bought a second pole a couple of days later.

The boat will swing a lot with one power pole. Also you cannot hold the nose of the boat into the wind with only one pole. Power pole or Talon.
