Yes, they are fat. Those sandies are fat as well.
Wind from the north, fisherman does not go forth. Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth. Wind from the east, the fish bite least. Wind from the west, the fish bite best.. __________________________________

It has really warmed up. After this rain, it's going to be absolutely ON. Carey sent me to RC Saturday morning, before the seminar, and asked me to show up to the seminar with a limit... Well, here it is.... All caught on Lunker City tiny flukes, 1/8th Stump Jumpers, or white/chartreuse Thump Buddies jigs.

Very nice TxPacker4. Always great to see fellow anglers with success. Yes the rain today and the upper 70/lower 80 temps this week are setting up for an amazing run! Be safe and tight lines everyone!
A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work anyday!!!

Hey all! New to this forum but have been fishing around DFW a good amount this past year.
The bite really turned on from dusk to maybe 8:30 last night just east of miller bridge, all crappie. Went home with 3 keepers, but I came in around the tail end of the bite and the other anglers I was fishing next to probably went home with around 10+ each.
I kind of stumbled upon the night bite by chance after getting skunked in the late afternoon, and followed the lights to see what was going on and the action was hot! The nice people along the bank let me use some of their night gear and we were pulling our crappie almost non-stop for that hour. Never been night fishing before, but it was definitely a good first experience, and the people were super friendly too! I was told that the fishing usually wasn't always quite that good, but was probably better since it was right before the rain.
I am wondering why the fishing for crappie was so tough during the day though, i was hitting brush piles and log jams wherever i could find, but not a single bite. Used both tiny flukes and white rooster tails. Also wondering if it's even worth trying again after the rain...
P.S. Would post pictures but didn't have my phone at the time

What do you think the rain we got last night will do to those fish you found yesterday

Those fish will push farther upstream and more will move in and take their place.

i would guess those fish would move up farther, and mainlake fish would start to move in. Fishing should be good soon! Im normally in my kayak if you see me holler!

Fish Hickory Creek or Pecan Creek! They are probably better anyway! But if you insist, there are still crappie in the creek, and the sandies are running.

Can anyone give an update on water clarity since the rain a few days ago?
