went striper fishing at lake texoma today..didnt catch one fish, i was using live bait most of the day, is there something im doing wrong? how am i suppossed to rig live bait? everyone around me was pulling up fish, but not me..

any help would be greatly aprecciated

dk44 I am not a guide on Texoma but I Have fished the lake alot..

he 1st thing I learned about bait fishing from J D lyle is a striper will not go down to get a bait the eyes are on top and tend to look up so if you are marking fish at a 30 ft stay a couple of feet above the fish, depth control is critical..

Hybrids do the same thing!

weight above swivel and then a 2 foot leader with a good sharp
hook!

remember the 2 foot of leader when you are droping to the depth.

I do not claim to be a great bait guru but thats what has worked for me!

i rig shad just under the spine infront of the top fin. they seem to last ;long and i do good that way.


PB largemouth- 7lb
PB buffalo- 9 lb
PB common carp-7.5 lb
PB channel cat-7 lb
pretty weak now but lots more to come hopefully
