For those that chase crappie in Feb, you know how frustrating Feb can be. Today was no exception. Four weeks ago, crappie were being caught in deep water from the dam to about 1 mile north. Then came two weeks of warm weather and a full moon and the fish scattered. Before the last two rains in north Texas, there were some fish being caught way up the creeks on Ray Roberts. But after the last two rains and cold fronts, water temps dropped significantly and those fish moved back to the main lake in deeper water. Water temps on the main lake were 51-52 and up the creeks, I saw 49.4 about a mile above Buck Creek ramp. Todd and I had two eventful days pre-fishing. Thur we went up Buck Creek looking, back down to the main lake and over to DuBois and up past the bridge. Fished a lot of structure and channels and had 2 crappie, 5" and 4" for our efforts. Fri we headed to the south end and looked from the Dam north to the bridge on the west arm and had three crappie with one actual keeper maybe 10.2". Things looking pretty bleak and we were hoping for maybe 3-4 keeper fish Sat. Wind finally cooperated and we were able to fish some deep structure and scratched out 6 keepers. Fish were caught all over the lake. The pattern was --- there wasn't one. The winning DIV I team fished up the river arm in 10-14 FOW on the first channel drop trolling with baits set 6-9 ft. The second place DIV I team fished close to Jordan Park in 35-45 FOW trolling a creek channel catching 60 fish to land 13 keepers. Todd and I fished COE piles in 30-34 FOW for our fish. Other teams found fish from 20-45 FOW fishing various patterns, some brush piles, some bridge pilings and some timber. There were 14 teams entered in each DIV. And there were some big fish brought to the scales with a 2.43 in DIV I, Jerry Hancock/ James Pegram and two teams tied for big fish in DIV II with 2.35, Doug Broadway/Johnny Merriman and Truston Hibdon/John Zoski. Considering the conditions, the CAT teams did quite well. DIV II DIV I

Congratulations to Chris and Clinton. They text me and told me they won a tournament off my jigs but I had no clue it was such a rough day on the water. These guys don't brag much and didn't tell me they were heavy sack in D2? I'm guessing its the first CAT tournament anyone's used my jigs; it's the first I've ever heard of?!
Congrats to James and Jeff and everyone that placed in both divisions.

Thanks Max!! It is awesome to have Rhonda healthy and back out on the water enjoying fishing again!! We missed it!! Winning money is a cherry on top! Miss seeing you!
NATIONAL OVARIAN CANCER COALITION Team Reeve is fishing to bring awareness to ovarian cancer. This is a silent killer and everyone needs to know that a woman's yearly exam does not diagnose this cancer. If you feel like helping this cause contact me or give to the NOCC/Team Reeve. Also contact me with questions on symptoms!

Congrats to all that put together good stringers on a tough day!! We were optimistic heading to the lake after Clay fishing last Sat but those fish were gone!! We struggled to put 8 keepers in the boat and one died so made picking out best 7 easy anyhow. Broke a Bonehead rod on a catfish and lost 5 fish today! That hurt!! On to the next one I guess!!! Gonna head to Fork or Palestine and get some revenge before Belton that's for sure!!!

Man that is a tough lake right now, we made 5 pre fishing trips between me and my partner. First one was in early January and we caught 20 fish half were keepers, The next four trips we didn't boat a keeper. Tourney morning I caught a keeper in first 5 seconds of tourney and we caught our second around 2pm(which died before we loaded up boat) we smoked a lot of 7" crappie.
I'm with slew , heading to fork next weekend to get some revenge before starting on belton.
