I chose Walmart/Duracell because the question was what is the most popular not what is the best. I think the best is Trojan 225. I had a set in my old boat. Great batteries but VERY pricey. Duracell are made by Penn East which is Deka. Just ordered 2. We will see how good they are.

I will never own another Interstate. My new Ranger came with Interstate AMG's. 11 months old and the cranking battery won't start the boat if I stop and fish for a while with the graphs on. Local Interstate dealer said that the battery still tests "within the parameters" as good and said Ranger built the boat wrong. Scumbags.

Two 105 amp hour academy exides for trolling for $90 each after $10 rebate. So far so good but only 1 year in.
Cranking battery is interstate.

4 Optimas for me and have been more than pleased with the results. Yep, I've had 3 Blue top 31s for 5 years and they keep on keeping on! I'll make that investment again when needed.

I have tried em all and have come back to Wal Mart simply for one thing. I know if I have one go bad, there is always a Wal Mart close by. If I can get 2 years out of a $100 battery, I will take that everyday. I keep the receipts in the boat glove box. +2 and they stand behind their warranty's. Deka all the way, what if I told you, you could get 5 years sometimes more for 120.00, would u take that
