Which style buzzbait do you like to throw the most? Advantages vs disadvantages? I come from the west coast and most lakes have substantially clearer water than lakes here in east Texas so I would throw buzzbaits with no clacker and use a little faster retrieve. But with the dirtier water I feel like maybe having a clacker and slowing down helps the fish hone in on the bait better and at the very least maybe get more bites just out of pure aggravation. Thoughts? Also what is your favorite buzzbait to throw and which setup to throw it on? I throw my buzzbaits on a Dobyns 734, Lews 6.8:1, and 40lb Seaguar Kanzen braid.

The cavitron is the best buzzbait I've fished. It gets bit far more than the others. I think it's the squeal. They don't have clackers and I've caught fish on them in all kinds of conditions.
Muddy water is no reason to slow it down. I almost always catch more fish burning a buzzbait pretty fast, even when water temps get into the upper 40's.
I prefer to throw them with a shorter (6'6") rod with a high speed reel and 50lb braid.

For me it depends on clarity or if I feel like I want a more obnoxious profile such as a loud clacker and really get the attention of the fish. When I don't use a clacker I prefer the 3 blade buzzbaitnand slow rolling it.

In muddy water the only topwater I will throw is a buzzbait and it always has a clacker. I still throw the old Roland Martin Blue Fox Black Flash one. Grew up throwing it and have no reason to change now. Heck I don't even know if they still make them but I bought out the ones in BPS Grapevine years ago so I'm in no need of anymore any time soon.
I aint too picky on the set up. 6.5'-7' medium heavy rod with 15-20 mono and I am good to go. Its just a chunk-n-wind bait so I try not to over think it.
