 need help w a simple question: transducer placement and mounting

I have a Lowrance Elite 5. I mounted the transducer on the transom of my 1750 Nitro but I think its too close to the motor.
The way the transom is there was no options where to put the transducer and its within 1 ft of the lower unit. It won't read above idle speed.
Can I take this same transducer and mount inside the hull?

Same on mine goes fuzzy when above idle and down image not showing bottom unless very shallow following to see what they tell you
