Still must be a morning bite. The folks fished the barge this evening and got nothing. Me and the kids went farther up Rocky Creek and there wasn't much to talk about there. I saw a few bass caught, but that's it.

Pope, his son, and myself fished this morning. ended up with 15 keepers, and a 5 lb bass. we started at 8 am and by 11am, the bite was off for us. most productive was the deep brushpiles.... did try some jig/bobber= Pope caught a nice one, and that how I caught the 5 pound bass. Lost a couple others. saw a couple ladies and they had a BIG basket full of black crappie.... cant tell where though... hehehe.. (Benbrook Marina slips)

Pope took 13 home at noon, and I went back and caught 2 more in the gale force winds with waves crashing on the deck!80# trolling motor on 90%!!!

Yeah, thanks for the pointers Ronnie. I am in traction over here now. i was off my game big time yesterday. I can barely manage thinking about fishing with my back out. I am taking my dog's prednizone steriods (same as human perscription) and hoping I feel well enough for work tomorrow.

Hope you get to feeling better. Back pain is the worst! there are some pads that eat up(like the handwarmers) that work for me when I get that bad. Doc says: Eat 2 crappie and call me in the morning... LOL!!

Wow, that saddens me to see the picture of the barge where it is now, compared to where it was this time last year. I remember sitting on those benches on the walkway slaughtering fish last year fishing toward the brush by the earthen damn w/jigs under corks. That lake looks even worse than Grapevine in my opinion right now. Think I'll stick to RayBob, Weatherford, and Lewisville right now.

Pope, I'm sorry to hear about your back. I have degenerative disk disease, but NOTHING compared to what your going through (just take an anti-inflammatory and pain killer every now and then when it flares up). My dad is having major back surgery soon and I'm worried about him. Best wishes/prayers to you in any kind of recovery.

Big Cat, These are old pics when the lake was 12 feet low. I just wanted to show the structure that is under the bardge. Benbrook is only 2 feet low right now and the bardge is floating and producing fish. Sorry if I mislead you.

Here are a few shots I got from my phone on my way back to the marina last night once the winds died down.

Cowtown, whew! You had me worried there for a minute. Well then, I might just have to visit Rocky Creek in the next week or so.

Had too many projects and my daughter's second soccer game this weekend, today, so didn't get to go out. Will have to wait til' later in the week (evening) or next weekend.

Hello Guys,

Jim and I fished Benbrook today and only caught 1 crappie. We suck at catching fish this time of year for some reason. We fished along the dam, down the east side of the lake, all the way back up in RS, and we even tried around the Benbrook Marina slips. The one we caught was in about 10' right on the bottom.

we caught ours on jigs.... deeper on a ledge that is 16 on top and 26 on the sides.

around the marina on slip corks set 15-18" up the line. (not around the slips- on the edges of the vegetation.

Hello SkeeterRonnie,

We tried in the edge of the grass and didn't have any luck. I guess this new pontoon boat has us all messed up. Jim wants me to take it back and get the old one back. LOL

I want to say I was seeing 65ish in Rocky Creek. I ripped the transducer off my TM halfway up into Rocky Creek so I don't know how much warmer it is further back there.
