Can anyone tell me how easy it is to catch big shad from the banks with a cast net? I want to try and do some night fishing for catfish.

JJ I've only gone up there a couple of times, but I've had no problem catching shad. Issue is I don't have a rod thick enough to toss the shad, they're huge
There are no fish in sonic pond EDIT: Except 1 20lb catfish

JJ if they are not running water go to the Oklahoma wall go to the base of it and throw your name into the deeper water to your right there's a good chance to catch some gizzard shad there and you'll keep your net out of the rocks you can also do this off the Texas side at the base of the wall and have a good chance of catching some shad there.
