I just found the Garmin 93sv echoMap Chirp on Amazon for a great price, so couldn't turn it down. Priced at $750 for the unit that was previously $1,199. Anyways, was hoping someone might have step-by-step instructions for installation of this Garmin unit with pictures of how best to run the wire from transom mounted transducer into the boat. My plan was to route up to where my outboard harness goes into the gunwale/battery compartment area.
Also, I am going from a basic Lowrance unit (520C) at the console, which I will want to move to the bow. The GPS puck for my Lowrance is located near the back of boat, so any recommendations for what I need to do with wiring on that unit would be appreciated as well. I currently have a smaller Lowrance on the bow, so I'm not worried about power, more worried about the other wires going into my 520C (it has 3 plugs on the back (power, GPS?, and network - I think), whereas the current unit I am running at the bow has 1).
Appreciate the help.

When you remove the old transducer and pull it out the back, tape a heavy string or light rope to the end and pull it through with it. Then when you are ready for your new transducer, tape it to the rope and pull it through to the console. You might even tape another piece of rope and pull it through with the new transducer wire for future additions.

My current transducer is through the hull, so will be mounting the new one for the first time. I'm pretty sure the installation will go smoothly for the new Garmin unit. I'm more concerned with getting the functionality out of my Lowrance 520C when I move it from the console to bow. I believe there is only a single power lowrance power cable running up to the little unit I have installed at the bow, so am interested in knowing what needs to be done to ensure the 520C maintains its ability for GPS, etc. when I move it forward.
Anyone have a recommendation for which ram mount to use on the new Garmin 93sv? I won't have the room to use their basic mount, so will need something that raises the unit on the right side of my windshield to where it isn't overhanging side of the boat by much.
Thanks again for any feedback.
Nat
