word we heard from news media at the search site was that a fisherman slipped while fishing, hit his head on the trolling motor...and that was the last time anyone saw him...

had a fishin partner, but it was pretty windy where the guys were fishing...

thoughts and prayers go out to his family...

HMM, so are you trying ot say that we should not give a hoot about this tragic event?

I promised my wife that I would wear my PDF 100% while fishing. I know is good practice and common sense, but somehow it just easier to not wear a PDF. I fish alone 99% of the time, so this gives her some piece of mind.

Easy for you to say. If your son was over there like mine is maybe you would change your tune.

It's a tragedy when anyone looses there life due to accident or war. Either way the families left behind suffer. You need to rethink your position on this one.

So he was fishing with a partner and the partner could not save him? I guess if he was knocked out, then it would be hard for him to bring him to the top. That truly is sad.

when I was in vietnam 1964 people were dying and others were drinking beer..two weeks ago a very small boat on texoma with
a 10hp maybe was going into high winds and waves.if it sank
who do we blame.I want to fish and not patrol the lake to save people all day..My son has tried to terminate himself in this
country several times.

If you put yourself into a high risk area something might
happen.small boat big waves, slip and fall while night fishing,
drive your car on snow and ice..IN vietnam some one dropped a
500lb bomb while loading aircraft at night, several aircraft
were destroyed,,high risk area...do not drink and drive

This is not Vietnam !! I respect, and thank you for your service, and all who died in that war, probably more than I can express to you in this post !!

But to make light of this situation, is absolutely wrong!!

I dont care who you are, there have been times we all have been without our PFDs, and some of us who may not even wear them !! But does that make the death of a fellow fisherman without a PFD less of a tragety !!

Mabey you are the one that can cast the first stone, but I dont think so !!

I'm not making light of the situation being discussed, but this warden you speak of is a moron who needs more time in the field. Thanksgiving day, about 15 or so years ago, TWO men were pulled from Ray Roberts, dead, WITH life vests on.
