they were catching them all over the lake
Lake Tawakoni - March 24 2007
Well the day started out at 65 degrees and 8 mph south wind and warmed up a good bit but the wind picked up during the day as well. The weather had been casting high winds and rain but the rain held off and this was the best weather this year for a tournament . I saw several new faces today and was nice to meet you guys. I opened the scales and the big fish started coming in and they didnt seem to stop until the scales closed at 3:00 p.m.
I had heard members telling stories of limit after limit being caught the day before pre-fishing with several big fish being caught. When i start registration I usually ask what the winning weight predictions will be and this morning they where telling me it was going to be 100+ lbs on 5 fish.
First place went to team Cody and Billy weighing in the biggest 5 fish ACATS stringer ever at a very impressive 203.7lbs . Thats over 40lbs per fish, first place paid $500.00 + trophies.
Second place went to Steve and Tony weighing in the second biggest stringer of 5 fish. These guys weighed in at 178.4lbs, they also weighed in big fish of the day at 57.2lbs. Second place paid $310.00 and medals and once again our friend Joe Ham doubled the $100 "Advantage Marine Big Fish Jackpot" making it worth $200.00. These guys told me they were culling 20lb fish at 8:30 am.
Third Place went to Todd and James. These guys weighed in another impressive stringer at 97.0lbs. They took home a $200.00 check plus medals.
Fourth Place went to Joe and Ed. These guys brought in a couple of twin 30 pound fish bringing their total to 87.3 lbs and putting $105.00 in thier pockets.
Fifth place went to NTACATS 2006 Anglers of the Year - Doug and Don. They weighed in 83.1 lbs for $60.00
6th thru 12th place received prizes such as bee ready gift cards, soft tackle bags, danny king punchbait, berkeley line spoolers, 4 foot cat NO-ROLL sinkers, proangler hats, uncle buck fish batter, tackle trays.

10th Brady and Mark 67.6lbs
11th John and Larry 54.3lbs
12th Jason and Scott 39.6lbs
The rest of the guys and gals that fished caught at least their 5 fish. There was several fish over 30lbs weighed today and 4 over 50lbs weighed today. There was 125 fish brought to the scales today for a total weight of 1748.2lbs bringing the average fish to over 14lbs.
It was a nice day of fishing for all 30 teams that showed up to fish this tournament. The crowd that showed up at the weigh-in was just amazed at the quality of fish that all the great anglers were bringing up the hill. Mouths were dropping and cameras were flashing. I would like to thank all you guys and gals again for coming out and making this a great tournament. I would like to thank a few of our sponsors as well:
