Wondering what are your tactic to hold over deep water (10'-18') structure in open water in wind? Wind speed is not a gale but a run of the mill breezy day that we often find on the lake.

I try and avoid the wind with my yak however, when fishing BTB I use a anchor ball to tie to. Pretty sure it would work in fresh water.

One or two anchors should do it. I like the bruce style claw anchor, I find it holds better than the folding grapnel type anchors common on kayaks.

I find the brush pile or whatever structure I want to fish and then throw out a marker buoy just upwind. Then I can approach the spot from downwind. Pedals allow me to hold a rod in my hand, which is important when the bite is soft, so I can react quickly. I also set a rod in a rod holder on the other side. Jig the set rod by slightly tipping the kayak occasionally. Don't catch as many fish on the set rod but I do catch some.
RealBigReel I don't go too fast but I go pretty far.
