Coming home from fishing on Sunday my blinker trim some how got caught on my mount that holds my large depth finder and now my trim only goes up not down Hopefully it is just the trim solenoid. Any help will greatly appreciated.

If you have two seperate trim solenoids you can in some models swap them out...if you think the down is bad , switch it out with the up solenoid, and if that works ...replace the solenoid....some motors like my Evinrude ETEC has a control module with the solenoids built in so you cant switch them around like that..I assumed you checked the motor trim switch and not just the blinker trim switch..if both are not working probably the solnoid...and sometimes you can just tap on the solenoid and they will release and work again...

I had trouble with mine on a 175 EFI and finally had to put 2 new diodes or solenoids (not sure exact name) in to make sure it was working properly. Sometimes in an emergency you can tap/knock on them and they'll get you up or down or you can try to reverse the hook ups to each for an emergency up and down, but to be completely safe I'd go with replacing the 2 parts.
