You have it set to do that. If you don't want it to do, that turn off Auto Range in the Chart main menu.

Installing a mega si chirp transducer on a spring back bracket, would it hurt to have the transducer sitting 1/8 - 1/4 inch below the transom?

not all if you are wanting to get 2d/di/si from 1 transducer especially with that sbb bracket.. Just remember though that the transducer is about $350 to replace. I have had my hdsi/onix transducers on the sbb without any issues though

I have two Helix 10's linked with a 360 and SI / DI transducer via a 5-port Ethernet hub. My console unit operates fine. The bow unit is networked to read the consoles SI & DI signal. I keep getting a message that the SI / DI signal is lost on the bow unit. Any ideas what might be going on?

try booting up the console unit first. It can a little bit for the network to set itself up.

Stuff to try:

1. Move the bow unit Ethernet connection to another port on the Ethernet Switch.

2. Remove any map or memory cards from the bow unit, test.

3. Restore Defaults on the bow unit.

4. Remove the Ethernet cable and route it backwards of what you have.

5. Change the Ethernet cable.

Thanks Wayne! I switched hub ports last night. It got too late so I'll give it a try this evening. No cards in the bow unit & a brand new cable & dongle adapter. On #4, can the cable direction actually affect the signal? Not questioning your knowledge, just trying to learn.

No, just the fit may be better in the opposite direction and lets you check the cable twice for a defect.

While you are at it and if the cable is long enough, use it between the Ethernet Switch and other unit to verify its function.

Will do & thanks again! I'll try to check the ethernet cable off of the console unit to the hub also. If my thinking is correct, a fault with the ethernet cable from the console unit to the hub could also cause this issue also couldn't it, since that's the link to the transducer for the bow unit?

Yes, that one too. Need to isolate where the issue is.

If you can, connect the units together directly without going through the Ethernet Switch.

Have you checked the wiring on the Ethernet switch to make sure it's connections are good and getting power? Is the Ethernet hub connected to a switch? Can you get 360 at the console unit?

Diesel,
Power appears to be good to the Ethernet hub (I'll double check with a meter this evening). I believe that the Ethernet hub power is wired through the accessory switch, but I'd have to confirm. Yes, I do get 360 signal at the console. It's kinda been one of those things where it hasn't been consistent enough to nail down a cause. If I don't stumble across a culprit, thinking about just re-wiring power to the units & 360. I bought the boat used, so I don't fully know how everything is wired up & want to make sure any bugs are worked out.

12.4v is what the unit digital read out is measuring. When you go to the diagnostics screen

I ended up opening the unit and not being able to find any visible damage(I was an "Electronic Technician" in my youth) went ahead and paid the 250 to get it fixed by the professionals at Humminbird. Thanks for your help. I pointed a fellow fisherman to this topic. I was at the Basspro shops and one of the Crappie Seminar attendees asked about settings. I told him you'd be happy to help.
