Primary oil tank woes

The cap on my engine mounted reservoir stripped out. Wasn't even finger tight yet. I got it to where it doesn't leak but it still ain't tight. This is probably not good I suppose. Idk. Motor is a 2006 opti 150. New tank or just a cap. Will the cap come out all the way to replace. Thanks

I hate to the bearer of bad news but Mercury does not offer just the cap as a service part have to purchase complete tank.....OPTI

Be sure to bleed the oil system after replacing tank that's from the boat to engine tank and also from engine tank to engine oil pump....OPTI
