T rig is my bread and butter, I can't say I've noticed any decline in it's use. A T rig will catch fish 12 months out of the year.

Yes its going the way of the spinnerbait, will still work but not as effective as it used to be for some reason. that's kinda how ive seen it. Maybe it's just the fact that there are a million baits you can Texas rig and the fish may not want them all all the time. I just figured I'd see yalls input on this whole topic.

There are so many other techniques competing for an angler's attention these days, likely highlighted in "must see" YouTube videos, that it might seem the T-rig is falling out of favor. As demonstrated above, it's still a staple item in a lot of good fishermen's arsenals.

I think the TxRig is used just as much as it has been. The biggest thing I see is that they are sub-categorizing the old reliable as a new technique or something other than a TxRig...
The finesse bullet hook combination slider-head spider, is that a Texas Rig? A weightless fluke or Senko on an offset or round bend (non-wacky), is that a Tx Rig? If you put a bead, bead and clacker, brass-n-glass, etc is it still a Tx Rig? This is the direction I go. I will have about 8 of these on the deck for different cover and structure.

Same thing for worms for me. Started fishing craws, creatures, biffle bugs, brush hawgs and yum dingers. Found a box of 10" power worms that I had in HS (over 20 years ago) and opted to toss in the boat. Caught 5 keepers in the last tournament on them and wondered why I ever went away from them.
T Rig will be used less frequently as other techniques catch on but works so it will never go away.

Don't know where you are fishing but everywhere that I go, they are throwing t-rigs just like normal. As far as watching them fish on TV, you are only seeing a small percentage of their casts on any day so who knows what they are all really throwing.

For me it's a situational bait...if i need something to get into and out of snaggy cover I will go T-Rig all day.
Depends on where the feesh are.

T-rig is my "go to" when all else fails. I almost always have one rigged up regardless of the season.

You will always find one tied on in my boat, it is a staple of fishing.
