ive never been to the lake. What's the easiest way to get there from I30 and New Boston? Is there more than 1 boat launch? What's the lake like? I've heard good things about it, want to go try it out.

Search on this site and you will find plenty of information including a rough map of where you can run and not run. Only one launch area at the county park.

You can pull up google maps on the lake see the ramp and back up to the closes way for you. The map to run on here would be a asset for you but even if you have it this lake has real hard timber in it go slow in areas with timber.

Hardest stumps ever. I may be there Friday.

Just one boat ramp. Titus County Park. It's a pay to launch ramp which way too many people "forget" to do.
You can run the entire South of the lake, but make sure you make wide turns on the points as some of them come way out. There's lots of grass in pretty much every pocket on south end as well and it can hold some great fish this time of year.
For the North end, I would not run ANYWHERE except from the highway bridge to the discharge unless you know where you are going. I posted a map on here a long time ago with an approximate run from the highway bridge to the railroad bridge at the mouth of Smith creek but I would not run this unless you have someone to follow. It's a simple run but if you are off a little and hit one of those concrete stumps out there, it will not go well for you.
As for fishing the north end, just find a spawning flat and get after it....grass, timber and pad stems are everywhere and the fish are in them. They've had their helmets on for the last 2 months because of a ton of boats being out there so make long casts and fish slow and you should have fun.

Ran into Warden Ash this weekend. Looks like he is about to get back on the water to enforce the restricted area around the discharge. Just because someone is up there fishing the fence, don't follow unless you want a fine. Make sure you understand the slot limit!

Thank y'all for the input. If Mother Nature doesn't get us, I'll be out there Monday.

Make sure you understand the slot limit! glad to know he is back out, my last time out while heading to the north forty i noticed one of the "you tubers" that has a pink boat with a cat on the side was positioned well insde the bouys. fyi - the main ramp will fit two boats, and the flat gravel ramp is actually easy to use.

fyi - the main ramp will fit two boats... Yes... If you are launching or recovering stay to one side on the main ramp so others can share, it is wider than it looks.

Not if the knuckle head in front of you backs right down the middle of the ramp.
