Okay, is it just me or do you guys notice that the texas-rig is getting side seated more and more. No, im not saying people don't use them anymore, especially when it comes to heavy cover such as punching or flipping brush, but you used to be able to go out with a texas-rig and strait catch em, but it seems more and more that they arent producing near the numbers as a wacky rig or some other fnesse bait, or near the size as a jig. in fact i'm noticing more people fading away from the ol' faithful texas rig, especially when it comes to things like the elite series or big bass tournaments. What are your thoughts on this? do you think the fish are just used to them a little more

For me it's more about time of year and area I'm fishing. Then I let the fish tell me. I caught all but 1 of my fish last weekend on Toledo Bend last weekend on t-rig pitched at Wood in 3-6' of water. Coach

Nothing is "dying", just being over analyzed.

The T-rig is still at the tip of the spear. There is a lot of hype out there about "new" baits and techniques that really aren't so new.

Yes its going the way of the spinnerbait, will still work but not as effective as it used to be for some reason.

I was prefishing behind a guy yesterday and he threw a square bill and a blade at this spot for probably 10 or so casts. I pulled up and first cast with the t-rig she ate it up. Two different styles though. I fish a t-rig probably 50% of the time in tournaments unless im out deep. Ol faithful in my book.

I will NEVER lay it down for good. Still catches fish EVERYWHERE. Sure there are other ways to get bit but nothing works universally like a Texas rig to me.

I Tx. rig creature baits (baby brush hog), beaver type baits and craws for pitching, and I tx. rig senko's and flukes weightless all the time.

I think the TxRig is used just as much as it has been. The biggest thing I see is that they are sub-categorizing the old reliable as a new technique or something other than a TxRig...
The finesse bullet hook combination slider-head spider, is that a Texas Rig? A weightless fluke or Senko on an offset or round bend (non-wacky), is that a Tx Rig? If you put a bead, bead and clacker, brass-n-glass, etc is it still a Tx Rig?
