Nice video Stubby. As you know, I use your bait all the time. Being impatient, can't wait for the bait to get down and get a bite, I use a 1/4 oz weight about a foot or so up. That way, I can let the baitcaster freespool all the way to the bottom, without pulling on it. Which is good when I am dropping down more than one line at a time. With braided line, I still feel the bite.
I've tried no weight lots of times, knowing that the master does it that way, but I just can't get used to it. Still get lots of cats, so I'm happy.

Thanks Stubby. i only use bait casters for the free spool option that I mentioned. I think a lot of it is what you like and are most comfortable with.
Yeah, You never know about the bites you never got. As long as I get plenty of bites, I'm happy. They sure love your cheesebait. I guess if the occasion arose where they got finicky, I would go weightless. Usually though, I just change spots until I find some more aggressive fish. In Fork, that is usually not hard to do. That being said, sometimes they just have to humiliate you just to prove that it is not always that easy. When they don't want to bite, you can't stop 'em.

This was about 40 minutes of fishing with Stubby's Saturday. I find it easier to use a spinning reel, 20-30lb braid and no weight

Stubby, how well does it work if you cast the bait?
