I only use ande and powerpro so its simple

I use a Dymo label maker and put a small sticker on each rod with the line weight, type and date it was changed.
0117 15FL = 15 lb fluoro changed out in January 2017
0117 12BG = 12 lb Big Game
0117 50BR = 50lb braid
So far after using it for 3-4 years it has served me well. Might be a little over the top but I am an engineer!

17 pound on night fishing pole-the line helps bouyancy.
12 pound bass rod.
8 pound crappie rod.
Small rod and reel for trout stocking.6 pound line.Also good for sunfish.

I have accumulated spools of line that are all different.
tell by color and how thin. i only really use 3 different weights of line then braid

That explains everything. On my catfish rigs some have 20# some have 30#. I think the shimano rigs have 14# but I don't remember. If the drag is set and used correctly, it doesn't matter what's on them.

My sandbass rods normally have 12lb and my striper/catfish rods have 20. My ultralight trout/panfish rod is 6lb.

I put my labeled stick under the reel seat in the concave of the reel base. This helps protect it from water and the letters fading out.
-SM-25 = Stren Mono. 25# test
-BPS-F-25 = Bass Pro Shop Floro. 25# test

Easy.
Cajun red on bait casters and RipCord yellow braid on my spinners.
Any spin caster has what came on it, usually clear mono 8 or 10 lb.
95% of my fishing is for eater cats so I usually have the spinners in hand.

Spinning rod has 20# PowerPro. Baitcaster has 30# PowerPro. I don't use mono anymore.

I put a little sticker on the underside of the side plate on each reel. Each sticker is lb test and type of line. For instance, 15 lb fluoro is 15F.

Mine is simple.
Ultra lights get 6lb mono
My moderate spinning rigs, most often used, get 10lb power pro
Heavy spinning rigs(catfish rods) get 20lb mono
Baitcasters get 14lb mono.
No need to label, I know by the type of rig what line it has on it.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!
