I would like to buy a Hummingbird Mega 12 but all I want to do with it is find fish. I don't need a gps or any other fancy things. Can someone guide me to the right Hummingbird Fishfinder. Thanks

What do you mean? the unit has what it has, why do you want that unit if you dont want all the bells and whistles? or is this a troll post lol

If you don't want all the bells and whistles, you are out of luck if you are looking for a 12" screen Helix. If you want simpler, buy a used 1198 or 1199. Gonna be a 10" screen but some of the "bells and whistles" that the Helix have are not there. Also much cheaper. But once again, if you get the Helix 12 mega, there is 0 compromise.

GPS is essential for knowing where you are on the lake. Using it to fish particular depths and structures. Attempting to drive around the lake looking for fish to show up on sonar is not the best use of your equipment.

Universal Mania may have some leftover Helix 12 2D versions left, but I have to agree with Chris. Once you see how the whistles and bells help you find fish, you won't want to be without them.

Thanks Chris for an intelligent answer. I will include all the bells and whistles.
