I recently got the MEGA transducer from hummingbird. My previous compact SI transducer would get bounce back from the jackplate. I am going to have the new one installed Tuesday. Which location would you recommend?

#1 or #2 and put a cover or hole shot plate on the bottom of the jackplate.

Use a XP 9 20 2D transducer in the bilge like you should done before or use the one you did install. Need a different Y cable.

Thanks! I will probably go with 2 since my previous one was mounted in the 1 location and picked up the jack plate. I was leaning toward #2 so that just reassured it. If anyone has any other spots to mount on my champion it would be appreciated.

My transducer for a Lowrance is glassed inside the bilge of my Champion 187. Have never had any problem with it and it won't get knocked around when I get in stump or rocky fields.
