Hey guys i was just wondering if anyone has been catching any sand bass up the trinity at whiskey flatts.

Ive been twice in the last month and no luck......

last year, we didnt start catching any till right after dark, havent been after dark yet this year.

i was wondering if there was enough water right now. i have alot of hot spots down there but i have been crappie fishing so far so i havent spent anytime down there

I don't know if this will help or not, but about a week ago my fishing partner tried to get his jon boat up the Trinity where it dumps into the main lake at Holiday Park and was unable to due to the shallow water. So I'm guessing that not many sandies will be making the run up river to spawn, but instead will opt for shallow wind blown main lake points.

thats what i was figuring. i guess ill have to opt for some other hot spots. thanks cowtown.

We were on Benbrook yesterday and found the sandbass in the other creeks -- if you can find any current flow(hint-even if it man-made)you'll find fish. Caught a bunch of the little yellow bass too.

thanks ensign. its hard to pick between the crappie and sandbass right now but i like to know where my options are.

hey i apprectiate it randy...with this rain the crappie are gonna be a little harder to locate so im probaly gonna hit up the sandbass this weekend. What have you been catchin them on?

Alright Randy now thats just not right! We were catching them up there on 1/16 oz roadrunner with a clear/glitter curly tail grub. Tried white but for some reason they wanted the clear.
