As if there wasn't enough going on that weekend! FLY FISH TEXAS is happening the same time as two other North Texas events. Hard to believe we non-government unemployeds are stepping up to promote this, isn't it? Won't be the first time for me (to do free marketing work), and doubt it's the last!

My biggest curiosity is, what is so special about that weekend that three sizable events are on the same day? Is anyone else amazed by that harmonic convergence of fly fishing in Texas?

I guess the only good part about it is that, between the three, they can serve the geography well - one pulling people from the west side of town, one the east, and one right up the middle.

I wonder, though, if there's enough interest going around to support the three of these, and they absolutely *have* to be on the same weekend, imagine how killer a festival could be if the resources, talent, and just general interest was undivided. I know that's unlikely due to slight variations in the different agendas at play, but still...it's a heck of a thought.

Of course, I'd still prefer if they could just stagger the weekends out, because I'd certainly like to go to all of them.

it is and has been discussed. cool thing is we will reach out to more fly fishers than ever before on one weekend. look at the glass half full, please. I'm making 2 of the 3 for sure

Maybe one day the flyfishing clubs in North Texas can get together either as their own council or at least communicate with the parties independently to coordinate this, since there is no other body that does so.

At this rate there will be 4-5 events on the same weekend next year; I guess that means it will just be a glass even fuller, reaching more people...
