What better way than spending your 14th birthday than fishing with friends. Chase's mom called and wanted to book a trip for Chases birthday for him and three of his friends. So we stayed close to home today and fished Lake Athens. Was a little chilly but we had a blast! These boys said all they wanted to do was catch a lot of fish. These boys caught 80+ fish today! Over 50 crappie which were 20-25 keepers. All the rest were 9 3/4 inches long. Stopped on a school of sand bass and let them wrestle a few. Also had some nice black bass. Really enjoyed my time with the boys today. I think introducing young men to fishing helps them keep out of trouble and gives them something to do now days. Wow!!awesome job Mark!...great pictures.
The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

!WTG Mark. I'll bet that was sure a fun day. Good, clean, honest fun. (And knowing Mark I'm sure there was some character building going on. Reminds me of a family I grew up with. They took myself and 3 others and opened up their cabin on Caddo Lake to us. We spent many, many days and hours there fishing and hunting. Kept us off the streets. I am forever thankful to them for what they gave to me.) Mark, I know you also realize that being a guide involves being more than being someone who helps clients catch fish. I believe to Mark it is a profession but also a ministry. KUDDOS!
