4TH ANNUAL �CRAPPIEFEST�
The 4th Annual Crappiefest Tournament is set for Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Lake Fork Trophy Lures in Emory, TX. A record $22,500 in cash will be up for grabs this year. This is a �big fish� tournament where each angler weighs in only one fish. 1st place will pay out $5,000, and the top ten places will all pay out cash. The entry fee is only $50 per person. You do not have to be a member of CAT to fish this tournament, and you can fish from a boat, the bank, a dock, a kayak or tube. All anglers of all skill levels have a chance to win. There are also cash payouts for the fish weighing closest to 1.00 pounds, 1.25 pounds, 1.50 pounds and 1.75 pounds without going over, and if your fish hits the exact weight of 1.00, 1.25, 1.50 or 1.75 pounds, you double your winnings!
And new for this year, a cash prize will be awarded for the lightest legal crappie weighed in ($500), and there will be 4 cash prizes for random weights drawn at the weigh-in ($250 each). These prizes will be awarded to the angler weighing in a fish with a weight that is closest to, without going over, the random weight drawn.
You can register for the tournament today, at any CAT monthly meeting, by mail, or at the Minnow Bucket the evening before the tournament or the morning of the tournament. All the tournament details are available at www.crappieanglersoftexas.com.
And most exciting of all, there is a $5,000 cash bonus for anglers that weigh in a 3 pound + crappie. If you are the only angler to weigh-in a 3 pound crappie and you are a CAT member, you will walk away with $11,000 in cash for a single fish! Is this a joke?

Why would it be a joke? This is four or five years in a row now and the pots keep getting bigger and bigger. I may be mistaken, but this tourney may very well be the largest of it's kind in the USA, and this year we're expecting a turn out of roughly 300 boats. Last year Phillip Law won almost $10,000 just by catching one fish that went over three pounds.
