I see several fishermen that have a device around their neck like a stop watch. What is it and how is it helpful?

You're probably seeing their remote for MinnKota trolling motor. You can use traditional foot pedal or control with remote control. I am not exactly sure what they look like but I am betting that's what your seeing.

My remote is for my Motorguide Xi5. I also have a wireless foot control for it that has never been used. For my kind of fishing it works very well. I can follow a shoreline at a specific speed or shoot a specific azimuth. Anchor lock is the cats meow. I know I know... you cable steer foot control guys swear by your rigs and curse ours but again for the type of fishing i do its a nice setup.

And any of the above mentioned remotes cannot be removed from around the neck until arrival back home. This means it must be worn in all tackle stores and restaurants.

If you see one of those old blue hairs wearing one and you'll see them trying to talk into it laugh
