Fishing at TC dike today conditions were ranging from overcast to slightly sunny then overcast and foggy in the afternoon with a slight chop to the water and pretty constant water current. Even with these varying conditions I managed to bag a decent black drum on small live shrimp and a 1/0 hook lol! https://imageshack.us/i/pnibdjOfj

30# mainline , I like Carolina Rigged w/ appropriate egg weight,or spider weight, 40# leader line with a good SS single shank 4/0 hook,a MH Rod, and half a crab for bait.
BTW: about mid March, the Rusty Hook Fishing Club usually has their Annual Black Drum Tourney. $20-25 entry fee. Weigh Station will be at Boyd's One Stop at the base of the Tex City Dike. 409-945-4001

Went out to the Dike today to check on an upcoming 30th Annual Rusty Hook Fishing Club's Black Drum Tournament in mid March. www.rhfishing.org I ventured to the end where folks were catching Black Drum...in the 33" range. Being illegal to keep, it was released. Slot limit is 14"-30". One fella a day or two ago caught two bigger ones....42" and 44". So they are there folks. Crabs are the bait of choice. Visit Boyds One Stop at the base of the Dike...the Cajun Grill is open..Great chow. BTW: Tickets for the tourney are at Boyds. This year the tourney will be held on TWO weekends Weigh station will be in the Brown Trailer adjacent the parking lot. I'm fishing it...see ya there.. And Remember..Take a Kid Fishing

I assume this was question...but the Blk Drum are mostly caught at the very East end on the South Side.
