Whatcha need to know? They were our competition for work until the Pave Low retired. Deployed with them twice. Good dudes (our birds were better though!) they finally won and big blue is out of the special operations rotary wing business. SOCOM is completely joint operations. They are the Army bad mfers of the air who give rides to the Army, Navy, and AF bad mfers on the ground. The air component (used to) consist of them, the 20th & 21st SOS, and HSC-84 & 85. Air Force got out of the game in '08 (with the exception of Ospreys) and the navy got rid of the red wolves last year. SOAR is pretty much the only name in town now in the special operations rotary wing game

They ferry almost all our special ops troops regardless of branch around and garuntee delivery within +- 30 seconds.

Based out of Ft Campbell KY.

Good book called Nightstalkers. Go figure.

Operate on, my man. Holler when you're in this neck of the woods and I will take you out fishing.
