Wondering about water temp, clarity, and how the fishing has been.

Went today, water was 50-53 everywhere I was. Prolly warmer now. Caught a few fish on a Trig up near rock creek In 4-8 ft.

Ran to Costello caught 6-7 there In the reeds then went to some deeper stuff and finally found a good school but mostly 2-3 lbers on a Carolina rig Did catch two around 4 lbs

Media was there today, didn't even know the west was fishing there till about lunch. Wonder what it took to win there. I saw a couple good fish caught

Go fish Brush piles in the creeks mouths and us a Carolina rig hair-jig with a swimbaits trailer.. Might have to sort through the strippers, but the big mouth girls are there!

Took a little over 26lbs to win the media bass tournament 9.5lb big bass and quite a few 5-7 pounders were weighed in.

Don't let the weights fool you. 50 teams and only 6 limits. And there were some sticks in that group that struggled.

Probably caught 20 fish yesterday in the tournament, with 5 keepers. The wind direction and overall blue bird hurt me some as far as big fish, but the lake is in good shape. One area of the lake produced the majority of the bigger bags and quantity.

I know for me it was the dirty, cold, shallow side of the lake. I'd be curious if this was the case for the others who managed to catch them. I was lucky enough to catch around 25-30 yesterday as well.

The entire lake was cold lol. But yes, the little more off colored water was better and positioned the fish shallower, for me and a few others anyway. I know the bigger fish were sitting just a little deeper on the rocks, but with the wind, I couldn't the rocks like I could the day before.

I guess I feel a little better after hearing the limits that were caught in the Media tour. I made the 2.5 hr drive yesterday and for the 1st time launched at B&B South and fished the lower end of the lake ... for 8 hours. I only caught two fish, both short. It was sure a disappointing day for me!

I couldn't buy a bite on the lower end in two days of pre fishing. All but two of my keepers (and overall bites) came from way up the river.

I'm going back with the forecast warm weather this Sun/Mon/Tues. I'll fish north this time. I'm just fishing for fun and would be very happy to catch a bunch of small fish. I just got back from 4 days on Amistad where I could catch small fish on almost every cast. That sure beats a long day with almost no bites at all. I believe PK has a very good population of fish now ... I just need to learn the lake better. I've had good luck throwing a fluke and I'll try that.

Any suggestions on the part of the lake that will be good spawning areas would be appreciated. I'm not asking for a specific area but would like to know how far north is productive?

I fished a tournament out there on Saturday. I caught 25-30 fish, but only 5 keepers. It was a tough day as far as size but they were biting. I had to slow my presentation down and get my lure down deeper to get bit. I fished the south end
