Was looking in the new bass pro catalog I just received in the mail and on the very back I see a new rod! A Johnny morris sig series Patriot rod!! Looks awesome and made in the good ole USA. I didn't expect to see that.

My guess is the higher cost is to compensate for the more expensive domestic labor. G Loomis is super expensive for the same reason. Doesn't necessarily mean it is the best made rod, especially for the money. I have multiple Loomis rods (including NRX) and I can do the same thing with a $99 rod as the $450 Loomis. Just my opinion.

They usually do big sales on their in store products during their spring sale. I bet a trade in plus that sale might make it worth buying

When did GLoomis start building rods anywhere but Woodland Washington?
Some people go to church and think about fishing. Some go fishing and think about God.

I would have thought that you would have a China Spring address.

G Loomis rolls their own blanks in Washington. TW had a video with Jarred visiting the shop and showing every aspect of manufacturing. Maybe you meant funny that Shimano owns them?

G Loomis is owned by Shimano and makes their rods in Washington, while Gary Loomis owns NFC which sells some finished rods and provides blanks to a few manufacturers including Kistler. NFC makes their blanks here in the USA also, but has no dealings with G Loomis.
