I am trying to buy a mapping chip for a Lowrance unit...I see some for $199 down to $99...

I just need the south region...I trying to figure out which is the best for the $ and what I am giving up or getting between the 2...

Any suggestions would be nice....

Thanks in advance...

There are two South regions now. Hotmaps Platinum and Navionics+.

Hotmaps Platinum is $199
Navionics+ Regional is $149
Navionics+ is $199

Platinum gives you Satellite Overlay, 3D, and port photos.

The $99 card is Navionics UPDATE and takes a map card you already own to activate it so it becomes Navionics+ with all the maps for the US and Canada.

Some dealers may still have the discontinued Hotmaps Premium regional cards which were $149

Like Wayne P. showed Navionics has great options to choose from, just really depends on what exactly you are looking for in your mapping card.

So would you say the Hotmaps Platinum is better than the Navionics....

I mainly looking for Texas lakes and good contours, creek channels, brush piles, etc...

Thanks for the help...

If you are not worried with satellite overlay. The navionics + card will have all that you need.
